History
All
Saints' Day School was established by the All Saints' Episcopal
Church Parish in 1961 under the direction of the Reverend David
Hill with the Reverend James Peter Farmer as Headmaster. During
the first year, the school was located in Pacific Grove on the
grounds that are now Canterbury Woods
In 1965, the school was moved to its present campus in Carmel
Valley and remained under the direction of Father Farmer until
1977. Laurie Boone Hogen was named headmistress in 1978 and remained
so until her retirement in 1995. Linda Bradley was with the school
for 25 years as a teacher and administrator, and served as headmistress
for four years from 1998 to 2002. After a successful search for
a new head of school, Michele Rench was selected and has been
leading the school since 2003.
Philosophy
Our school is recognized for its development of the whole child,
its challenging academic program, its nurturing of a positive
self-image, and its cultivation of an understanding of our loving
relationship with God and others.
At All Saints' Day School, our program combines three major emphases
to develop the whole child:
- An enriched academic program that challenges students' minds
- An inclusive, caring community that nurtures students' hearts and spirits
- A well-rounded activities program that engages students' talents and interests
Our multi-dimensional program combines academic excellence with spiritual and moral values, while emphasizing the philosophy of mutual and self-respect. We value the dignity and unique abilities of each student, and we are committed to the growth of every individual to his or her fullest potential.
