The All Saints Mission

In a joyful and spiritual environment, we prepare children for lives of learning and service.
As an Episcopal school, All Saints provides an exceptional academic program that incorporates religious education honoring and celebrating the inherent worth of each individual.

All Saints is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, which affirms that Episcopal schools are created to be models of God’s love and grace. Episcopal schools invite all who attend and work in them — Episcopalians and non-Episcopalians, Christians and non-Christians, and people of no faith tradition — both to seek clarity about their own beliefs and religions and to honor those traditions more fully and faithfully in their own lives. Above all, Episcopal schools exist not merely to educate, but to demonstrate and proclaim the unique worth and beauty of all human beings as creations of a loving, empowering God.

An All Saints education is characterized by:

  • An identity that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive to all
  • A school mission, curriculum, and teaching that reflect and affirm the inherent worth of each student
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
  • Morning chapel that welcomes the whole school community
  • A religious studies program that provides students with a foundation in the Judeo-Christian tradition, the study of world religions and traditions, and the opportunity to reflect upon and discuss faith, core values, and the development of character
  • Pastoral presence, teaching, and care
  • An extensive outreach program that honors service to others

OUR HISTORY

In 1961 All Saints Day School was founded in Pacific Grove by three Episcopal parishes under the direction of the Rev. David St. Leger Hill, with the Rev. Peter Farmer as Headmaster. The school was originally known as the Bishop Kip School but soon became All Saints' Episcopal Day School after All Saints' Episcopal Church in Carmel gave the school its pledge of support and its name.

In 1965 the school moved to its present, beautiful, permanent location in Carmel Valley. All Saints Day School is separately incorporated, retaining its unique blend of academic excellence where critical curiosity is nurtured in a caring environment that balances social, emotional, and ethical perspectives.
