Throughout the year, our students engage in various outreach activities. In September, the 7th grade visits Dorothy’s Kitchen, while in November, upper-grade students provide Thanksgiving food boxes to the Boys and Girls Club. December is a busy month with a school-wide initiative to provide holiday boxes to Nancy’s Project, and Pre-K and Preschool students contribute by providing stocking stuffers to the Carmel Valley Angel Project. January is marked by MLK Day, a designated day for a school-wide outreach event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Activities on this day include decorating grocery bags for Jacob’s Heart, creating cat and dog toys for AFRP, designing placemats for Meals on Wheels, and sending greeting cards to nurses and doctors at CHOMP and residents of Carmel Valley Manor. In February, the 8th grade works at the Food Bank of Monterey County, and in April, the 6th grade visits Meals on Wheels to have lunch and chat with senior citizens. Additionally, every Friday, the entire school participates in bean bagging for Nancy's Project.
In addition to these efforts, we provide dinner and dessert to 20 men at the All Saints Episcopal Church through their iHelp initiative, further extending our reach into the community.
The organizations we work with throughout the year include the Monterey Food Bank, Dorothy’s Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Nancy's Project, AFRP, Jacob’s Heart, CHOMP, Carmel Valley Manor, and the Boys and Girls Club. Each partnership enriches the lives of our students and those we serve, reinforcing our commitment to community service and outreach.
We are always actively looking to increase our outreach activities and welcome ideas from the community. By expanding our efforts and embracing new opportunities, we aim to make an even greater impact.
