Sara Brown will become Head of School, Scott Fujita will transition to ASDS Board Chair
All Saints Day School announced that at the end of the 2023-24 school year, Scott Fujita will transition from Head of School after five years in the position to become the new Board Chair while Sara Brown will take over as Head of School.
“We’ve thought a lot about what’s best for your children,” said Fujita in his announcement to the school community, “and about what will take All Saints to even greater heights. The school is in a remarkably different place than it was five years ago, and Sara is the right person to take what has been built and drive the school forward.”
During his tenure, Fujita shepherded the school to new levels of financial security in spite of the global pandemic, and oversaw a campus transformation larger than any in its history, with new academic, athletic, and performance facilities either completed, or in process.
“I am excited to continue working closely with Sara and her leadership team. Much of my current work will continue as I remain heavily involved in the school’s short and long-term strategic plan to help ensure All Saints’ continued success and sustainability.”
Sara Brown holds a BA in Economics and MA in Education from James Madison University in Virginia. She began her career in education teaching middle school in the San Francisco Bay Area for eleven years, before moving to the Monterey Peninsula and joining the All Saints faculty in 2004. In 2017 she was named Head of Upper Grades and then in 2019, Assistant Head of School.
“I am filled with excitement and a deep sense of responsibility as I look forward to taking on the role of Head of School,” said Brown in her statement to the school community. “It is both an honor and a privilege to step into this position and to be entrusted with the education and well-being of your children.”
“I am proud of the remarkable progress our school has made in recent years,” added Brown. “I am committed to nurturing an environment where these achievements are not only celebrated but also used as stepping stones for continued growth.”
All Saints Day School, in Carmel, CA, is the only independent, private school on the Monterey Peninsula that focuses solely on educating students in Preschool through Grade 8, and has been doing so, with a reputation for excellence, since 1961.
