It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Thad Sigourney, a cherished member of the All Saints family, has passed away, leaving behind an indelible legacy of love, wisdom, and compassion. For nearly four decades, he poured his heart and soul into our school, shaping the lives of countless students with his unwavering commitment, genuine passion, and infectious enthusiasm.
Joining All Saints in 1979 and retiring in 2017, Thad's impact extended far beyond the classroom. Even in retirement, he remained an active part of All Saints, attending alumni events and our performances, dropping by to catch up with his former colleagues, always ready to share his tips and opinions with me, and regaling all of us with stories and laughter.
Thad's teaching went beyond textbooks and lesson plans; he aimed to instill in students a deep appreciation for the connection between their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. As "Mr. Sig," he shared his wisdom and encouraged students to embrace life's challenges with resilience and humility.
With his booming voice that echoed across campus and a presence that seemed larger than life, Thad was a cherished figure, recognized and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was deeply devoted to his own family, placing them at the forefront of his priorities. With his wife, Julie, by his side, they raised four children who embody the same values he instilled in his students.
Thad Sigourney's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but his memory will continue to inspire us to live with purpose, compassion, and joy, just as he did every day. We are immensely grateful for the time we shared with him and the impact he had on our lives. Rest in peace, Mr. Sig, knowing that your influence will live on in the countless lives you touched.
A Celebration of Life was held on campus on May 18. I
n honor of “Mr. Sig,” his former students hosted a game of the classic “Ruggerball,” a sport he invented decades ago and still played by All Saints students today.
We have received many inquiries from All Saints alum families expressing interest in making a donation to All Saints Day School in honor of Thad Sigourney. Thad left a tremendous footprint on our school's outdoor campus, as well as his lasting impact on countless students, and we couldn't think of a more appropriate way to honor him and his family than to have all donations made in his honor to support the continued improvement of the school's outdoor programs.
